I have one of these (actually, mine is a ZAD80CE)and I’d be willing to sell it for $695 (retail from sight is around $1395), sale price $1195. I’ll pay $50 towards shipping. I’d be happy to send pics and video of guitar. It is very pretty and plays very well, just not as well as I’d have liked it to be.

I feel compelled to comment on my zad 80. I gave it to my nephew but I plan to get another. They are lovingly made by hand by denny Zager and his son in Lincoln Nebraska. Modeled after a Martin 000 from what I can tell, mine was simply superb: intonation perfect, amazing tone with wonderful harmonic overtones..this size is perfect for fingerpicking and solo lines. I can’t say enough good things about them. and I’m a professional musician, too.

  3. Jeff Mayer Says:

They are made in China, but Denny does the final inspection & setup here in the USA.

I tried to post the entire website address, and good old YT would not let me!!

  5. MissPickletoes Says:

Try a site called juststrings and enter flat wound under the search

what kind do you use?..got me curious now..lol..i’ve only ever had them on one other guitar(old epiphone es-335 style before they became generic)and they were on it when i bought it,i’ve looked for them for acoustic/electric,but had no luck…any suggestions?thanks

  7. MissPickletoes Says:

I’ll give it a try on my Zager. I have had them on other guitars and it gets rid of that annoying ‘zing’ when you are playing.

  8. RustyShackelford73 Says:

    never tried them,but i’m sure it will…

  9. RustyShackelford73 Says:

sorry for such a late response, life happens,…to be honest i’m not sure myself…i’ve heard everything from they are made in china to they are made one at a time by denny himself…either way it is a great player and does well live among other guitars, stays in tune(that to me is worth alot)..

  10. stratobagster Says:

is this thing from merry ole china? i just discovered these and i’m skeptical. 2.5k for an unknown axe (and he is relatively unknown, let’s be real). but this guy says he loves it, and it is expensive and pretty and so on…anyone else say “whoa”?

  11. MissPickletoes Says:

Will it play well with flat wound strings?

  12. Tim Van Horn Says:

    $50 to re-fret a guitar? I don’t think so.

  13. RustyShackelford73 Says:

and $1500 invested?how?if you did have it refreted you can have that done for like $50 at a local music shop, and have the back and sides replaced?yeah right, just because your guitar instructor says something, doesn’t make it the Gospel trueth, and remember you will always have haters out there that will bash anything but the brand they play…i would happily own another and recomend them to anyone!!

  14. RustyShackelford73 Says:

not gonna go back and forth with words so i made a video showing the inside of my guitar,it won’t let me post a link but i uploaded one on my channel,as far as frets being filed too much, absolutely not the case with mine, string spacing is excellent, and have never been told anything misleading by anyone at the company when i have asked questions, nothing but superb customer service…

TWO YEARS OR SO AGO I BOUGHT A ZAGER GUITAR. THEY ADVERTISED SOLID WOOD BACK AND SIDES. WHEN I GOT IT MY GUITAR INSTRUCTOR TOLD ME IT HAD LAMINTATED (PLYWOOD) SIDES AND BACK. DENNY’S ON EMAILED ME THAT IT WAS BETTER THAN SOLID WOOD. THE FRETS ARE FILED SO LOW THAT I NEED TO HAVE THE FRETS REPLACED. BY THE TIME I AM DONE I WILL HAVE $1,500 INVESTED IN A $400 GUITAR.

  16. oldmanholder Says:

THE SIDES AND BACK ARE NOT SOLID, THEY ARE LAMINATES, PLYWOOD. ASK DENNY TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH AND HIS SON WILL TELL YOU.

  17. RustyShackelford73 Says:

first one to get “the king of the hill”..lol.. will be making new videos soon, life happens at times and gets in the way of having sometimes, but will be able to post new videos soon like previously stated.. thanks for watching!!!
